Updates in 2014

Wow. It has been over a year and some months since I last blogged and I apologize for seemingly abandoned my blog. I think one of the new year's resolution for 2014 is to continue what I've started here and update my blog more often. Time to rekindle my passion for writing and share more about what captivates my mind. I'm not even sure if any one is reading this blog at all, but I will write and post because I like to write, not to garner audiences.

TV Season Finales Recap/Review Part 4

I have to say...I'm losing interest with The Mentalist. Simon Baker used to be charming as Patrick Jane, the CIB consultant, but he's become less likeable in season 5. Maybe, he's always been that way and I see it now. I mean I always liked that he is able to read people extremely well and is able to come up with ways to trick the true murderers into falling for his traps at the end of each episode. I realize the CIB agents are pretty useless without his consultation. They can't catch the real culprit without Jane. He never involves them in his schemes or even reveals the truth until last minute. Patrick Jane doesn't treat Teresa Lisbon like a partner or the others like his team members, he always goes on a whim and does what he likes all the time.  Maybe people like that about him, but I don't. I used to like Patrick but I'm tired of the same old Jane.

TV Season Finales 2012 Recap/Commentary Part 3

What makes Criminal Minds and NCIS successful is their skillful ability to catch the audience's attention. Every episode of Criminal Minds we see a dangerous situation in the form of a murderous unsub and the darkness of humanity is revealed in these serial killers. The BAU's job is to profile the serial killers and diffuse the ticking bomb (the unsub).  Right from the beginning of Criminal Minds' season finale, we see the families of  Hotchner and J.J. waking up in a peaceful morning while Penelope and Spencer go to a convention. Rossi just came out of an all night romance and it's another Saturday where people go to the bank. The ordinary scenes of life is immediately juxtaposed with  a surprise bank heist by the Face Cards.

TV Season Finales 2012 Recap/Commentary Part 2

Harper Dearling's video message left for NCIS Special Agents
The season finale for NCIS tonight did not disappoint. Last week's preview promised "Gibbs and the team face major changes and challenges when terrorism rocks the Navy and NCIS to the core" and it delivered. Harper Dearling has a vendetta against the Navy and has been pointing out the vulnerability of the ships in the latest episodes.

TV Season Finales 2012 Recap/Commentary Part 1

Season Finale Week is here! I know, some TV season finales have already aired as early as April, but for most 24 episode TV serials, it will end some time in May. Time for some follow-up posts on my favorite TV shows. My recaps/commentaries on the seasons will be long, so I'll be splitting it up into several installments for each show.

For the dates of Season and Series Finales of your favorite TV shows click here.

My season finale week starts with Gossip Girl, which airs May 14th at 8pm ET.
